4-week Digital Program For New and Expecting Parents

This is a program for new parents, to help guide them in the transition of the newborn from the womb to the world. Capturing a newborn before any trauma has been inflicted, to ensure maximum brain development and hard wiring. My purpose is to help parents learn how to parent a brand new human being and raise that individual to become a healthy and productive person. Every newborn has the same basic needs, which are: nutrition, shelter and love.

As a Pediatrician I have fallen in love with new parents because it’s a true display of unconditional love. Every parent wants their child to reach their full potential in life. Parents sacrifice their sleep, bodies, and lifestyle to make sure that their newborn has everything necessary to make them happy, healthy and developing properly.

What makes me unique as a parent coach is that I have a Medical Degree and I am a Board Certified Pediatrician. With my experience and expertise, I have developed a program to help new parents become the parents that they always dreamed of becoming. As we all know, newborns do not come with manuals.

You don't have to go through the trials and tribulations of your new parenting journey alone! Wouldn’t it be reassuring having a Parenting Coach who has been practicing Pediatrics for over 10 years? With Dr. Divina Lopez you get an expert with valuable expertise in Pediatrics. You will receive continuous support on your journey and inspiration to create the family that you dreamed of.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What services are being offered?

First I want to make it clear that as a coach I will not be functioning as your Pediatrician. As a coach I will not be performing physical exams and I will not be diagnosing or treating your infant. I can certainly guide you and help you understand how to choose the right Pediatrician for your baby. The package will include an initial assessment with the parents which I think is ideal if done prenatally, that way I can understand what your expectations are. I can provide anticipatory guidance, breast feeding advice, sleep advice, teach you how to get the baby on a schedule, teach you how to support your baby’s development, nutrition for baby and also advice to keep you functioning as a happy couple. I will have direct contact with you either virtually or through email to answer your questions. There will be one virtual group session each week for 4 weeks. Expect the virtual session to last about 60 minutes. You also receive the E-Baby Manual, E-Journal and Family Report Card.

6. Are Prenatal Childcare Classes Covered By Insurance?

What if your class was covered by insurance?

Here at Dancing Into Parenthood, we help moms and dads prepare for their baby every month. We do this through our free resources here on the website, the newsletter, social media, the podcast and our own 4-week digital course. We are passionate about helping moms and dads have the healthiest, safest, and happy baby.

We also know that this is a crazy time in the world, many parents are stressed, and the expenses of having a baby can be high.

We are super proud of the results we get our families and want to make sure that when it comes to being properly prepared for your baby, the cost doesn’t hold you back.

7. So, What Happens When You Look At The Cost Of A Prenatal Childcare Course And You Think, Oh Crap, That’s Expensive?

I know, when you are preparing for a baby, you have a lot of things on your mind and a lot of demands on your wallet.
Did you know that your prenatal childcare course may be covered by insurance? And that you can use your flex savings or health savings accounts to pay any difference?

8. How Do You Get Your Prenatal Childcare Education Course Covered By Your Insurance?

The first thing you have to do is call your insurance and find out what you are eligible for. Grab your insurance card.
On the back there is a number to call.
Call them.
Tell them you want to take a prenatal childcare class and ask what the process is to have part or all of your class covered.
They will be able to tell you what and how much they will pay towards classes. Most insurance plans cover either partially or in full.

9. What Is The Normal Process To Have My Prenatal Childcare Education Course Covered By Insurance?

Once you know how much your insurance will cover for you for your class, you need to know how to do it.

Most of the time you will pay out of pocket for the class. Then you will have to submit a form and your receipt to your insurance company.
If you purchase the Dancing Into Parenthood course you will receive an email immediately that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
This email will also have the relevant codes on it that your insurance company will use to properly submit your claim.

10. What Codes Do I Need To Give To My Insurance Company To Have My Prenatal Childcare Education Covered By Insurance?

There are two pieces of information you need to give your insurance company when asking about coverage.
This is the CPT code so they can appropriately document the purpose and the diagnosis code, that tells them why you should be covered.
The insurance CPT code for prenatal childcare classes is: S9444. You may also need this: Diagnosis code Z32.3, which is for prenatal childcare education.

11. Will My Class Be Fully Covered By Insurance?

Unfortunately, there is no way to know without calling your insurance provider directly. But it’s good to know that, yes, prenatal childcare education is covered either fully or partially in mosts states and on most plans.
But, at the end of the day, every plan and state is different.
For example, some plans only cover up to a certain dollar amount, such as $90 for first-time moms and $45 for second-time (or more) moms.
Other plans will cover the entire thing.
It’s up to you to call your insurance and find out what you personally are eligible for.

12. What If I Don’t Have Insurance Or Money To Pay For A Course?

Preparing for a baby is expensive. I do not know what your options are for other classes, but when it comes to Dancing Into Parenthood, we have scholarships for moms who can’t afford classes, but really need to participate. Reach out and ask us about our options for families experiencing hardships.
Send your inquiry to info@drdivinalopez.com

13. Why Should I Spend Money On Prenatal Childcare Classes?

Newborn care classes can be an investment that protects not only your baby’s health but your financials as well. Here are just some of the benefits of taking a proper prenatal and childcare education class:

  • Reduce your risk of feeling confused when baby arrives
  • Reduce the risks of making the same mistakes that many new parents make leading to urgent and emergency care visits
  • Decrease the anxiety of becoming a new parent
  • Have virtual support that you can always refer to in the comfort of your home
  • Reduce the risk of postpartum depression
  • Increase the odds your baby will be happy, safe and healthy
  • Need fewer calls and visits to your baby’s doctor
  • Learn how to make your home safe for your baby
  • Increase your knowledge on what is happens when you bring home baby
  • Create the best experience possible for your new family
  • Deeper bonding and strengthening of your family
  • Make connections and friends that can support you in this new stage of life

When you are better prepared for your baby, you build a better foundation for your family, which means that you will have peace of mind in the long run as well.

14. What If I Don’t Want To Prepare For My Baby Through A Class?

That’s fine! Classes can be mega empowering and a great way to connect. But sometimes you are too busy, too broke, or truly just need a light refresher.

15. When Should I Start A Newborn Care Class?

A good time to start the class in your second or third trimester. You want to complete the 4 week program before the baby arrives. That mean giving yourself time to watch the videos each week and read the pdfs.

16. To Summarize, Are Newborn Care Courses Covered By Insurance?

Yes, most insurance plans cover prenatal parenting classes either fully or partially. To find out what exactly is covered by your plan, call the customer service number on the back of your card. Give them the code and diagnosis code below:
The insurance CPT code for parenting classes is: S9444.
Diagnosis code Z32.3 which is for prenatal childcare instruction: Newborn Care Class.
Anything not covered by insurance can be paid for with a health savings or flexible savings account or out of pocket.
I’m so excited for you to welcome your baby and hope you have an amazing parenting experience!

Testimonial from a happy parent

Dr. Lopez has been a reliable, enthusiastic resource to me since we met almost two years ago via social media. I had been following her "Dancing Into Parenthood" podcasts and social media posts online, and even interviewed Dr. Lopez for her insights on children and education during the pandemic. Even though I was not yet a parent, I enjoyed Dr. Lopez's fun approach to raising healthy, happy children and families.

So when I finally became pregnant, I knew where I would go with all of my questions. Although my husband and I have been trying for a baby for years, we had no idea how to prepare for bringing a child home once the day came. Luckily for us, Dr. Lopez created a parenting course that was comprehensive and flexible to our schedules.

The weekly virtual course was fantastic. We were paired with a couple who had literally just had their little one only a few days prior to our first virtual session. At 8 months pregnant, it was extremely helpful for us to have the opportunity to listen to both Dr. Lopez and the couple who were experiencing new parenthood in real time. When accompanied with the online modules, we were able to learn so much in a relatively short amount of time. The sessions were structured around topics, yet free-flowing with helpful conversation and question/answer intervals.

Now that my baby girl is here and growing so fast, I appreciate our sessions with Dr. Lopez even more. We have unlimited access to the online modules and guides, which I now refer to as needed. The good thing about Dr. Lopez's programs is that they are all very accessible, and she is very media savvy, which is great for parents on the go. Our experience with Dr. Lopez has been beyond positive, and we definitely recommend her to all new and aspiring parents. Thanks so much Divina!!!

Tevra Francis

Sounds great! My family will benefit from your program!
